It takes a special sort of insanity to head for the bathroom and the bedroom of America while the world warms, children die hungry, and the populace becomes more and more divided into have and have nots.
It’s a special sort of madness to shrug as a sovereign nation is invaded by a bloodthirsty dictator but to obsess over ‘illegals’ coming here for a better life.
I could go on but we sorta know where this goes because we live it.
This is our reality
And it’s true insanity.
The Republicans gaslight the public by crying out WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN as they ban abortions, and IVF, and anything that might, maybe, could be interpreted in their faux-religious views as ‘killing a child’. That statement loses any real power though when you see how they gut welfare, aid programs, and school funding. I can’t tell if they want to just tell the country – hey, it’s up to you to educate your kids, we aren’t doing it unless it’s Jesus doing the teaching – or if they just want to force everyone into private schools where kids will essentially be indoctrinated.
OH, BUT THEM LIBS!
They cry, not caring or being honest about the fact that teachers are too afraid and schools too broke to try to teach kids anything that is off script. Oh, sure, they try to teach lessons of humanity and empathy but those are few and far between now because there’s always a parent that is waiting to have that teacher fired if they DARE try to teach their kid anything of value.
America is right.
The White man did everything.
Women need to obey.
People of color need to do what they’re told.
Bend the knee to God.
Always great to hear from people who never lived by the teachings of Christ and wouldn’t know the man by said teachings. They’d see him and say he was a dirty lib or just hate him for the color of his skin.
They prefer their Trumpus Christ instead of the real one.
That Trump has been conflated, in hilarious art, and in these growing folk stories about how brave and strong he is, into a man of substance tells you how bankrupt the Republican party is. A party that, even if I disagreed with it, did once stand for SOMETHING. Now it stands for hate, fear, division, and anarchy.
Oh, wait, some may say, it’s the LIBS that want anarchy. They are the ones that want marching in the streets, and the protests, and all that. Sure, sure, that’s true. But they aren’t the ones marching on the Capitol with weapons drawn and ready to kill. They aren’t the ones that have killed protesters while they played at being a police officer because they had an assault rifle.
The protests looked bad because it is always scare to see that much anger, that much fear, and that many people gathered together.
Because it’s powerful.
And it makes you ask – what if they are right?
We did it during Covid when issues of race and culture and violence were at the forefront.
We did it again on January 6.
It’s always fair to ask questions.
The problem is when media outlets bend the discourse to fit their agendas.
Not looking into WHY there was looting and fires during the Covid riots, no, but just pointing and saying LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID.
They don’t care about the nation because if they did they’d work to solidify schools – we can argue about what should be taught but for the love of cripes, I was never indoctrinated by anything but apathy to math so what they taught me was pretty OK – should make sure people don’t go hungry, and should make this a nation people can LEGALLY come live in if they go through the process.
Though that means creating a process that made sense and welcomed people that weren’t White Europeans.
There is no future in the Republican party.
There isn’t.
Their future is war, hate, and a dead planet.
They don’t care about the climate crisis.
They only care about White Cis-gendered people who will at least pretend to be Christian.
That’s it.
They’ll make a little room for others if they are willing to sit outside of the fire.
Don’t give us your poor, your hungry, your people yearning to be free.
Give us your braggarts, your liars, your philanderers desperate for fame.
Give us your fake news that is clung to because it’s the only truth that fits our worldview that THEY are coming for us.
THEY want what we have.
So we better arm ourselves and be ready to kill.
And maybe that’s the big difference here, in them and me, and them and any person that still believes in humanity. Their obsession with division, fear, hate, and murder. Their insistence that if they don’t get their way there’s gonna be an uprising. A reckoning. A war. They prep. They gather arms. They prepare and wait.
Hungry to fight without even understanding what that would mean or cost. I don’t know if they want to fight a war against people with nothing to lose because they may find that those are the people with little fear in them because they’ve already been fighting to survive.
We are entering an era where the very survival of the species is at hand. With the tyrants of the world being given the go-ahead by too many American politicians to do as they please it will only take one of them to shrug and drop the bomb.
Or we can take the slow route and just wait for us to kill the planet.
Republicans don’t care, they just don’t want any LGBTQIA+ people in their states or anyone of color on their employee rolls.
I am tired.
We are all tired.
I am tired of JK Rowling, someone with such a brilliant mind who is so tied to her toxic feminism that she’s become a poster child for trans hate.
I am tired of hearing of people dying who were just trying to make it to America for a better life.
I am tired of our rights being taken in the name of a religion I don’t follow.
I am tired of our nation’s children being used as the reason so much evil is done in this country by politicians only to then be ignored by them when they need genuine aid and support.
I am tired of watching people with guns, and gun propaganda play at being toughies and desperate for that one chance to prove their worth by shooting someone with one of their many weapons.
I am tired.
We are a nation that could do so much but won’t.
We’d rather fire everyone and run to the machines not for reasons of safety but to make more money.
We’d rather screw everyone else so we can look good on the socials.
Trash like Boebert and Trump, who are only saved from being called what they are because they are powerful and wealthy, are two of the many standard bearers for a party that has lost its standards.
A party that seems both to hate and need Trump because he’s all they have.
There is no future in hatred and these people know it, and that’s why they are fighting so hard.
It doesn’t mean the future is full of love and peace but that people are tired of hiding who they are, tired of being told who they can be, and tired of being held down by an elite that barely exists in the same world as the rest of us.
There is no more going backward.
We just have to make sure the whole thing isn’t destroyed before we can clear out all of the monsters from under our collective beds.
