A Nation Gone Mad

In America, I am past the point of stunned disbelief at what is happening. I am instead in awe of how easy it was to make all of the dominoes fall. If you read the comment sections and message boards, this was a disease that began decades ago, and that may be so, but it was Donald Trump who gave purpose to his people and enemies for them to hate. 

That a man with as much baggage as he has, and with sex scandal after sex scandal tied to him, can twist it all so that he’s a victim shows how willing his base is to, well, debase themselves to be of service. 

And to what end?

You can’t shake a nation and have all of the “Others” fall out. 

Taking the health care away from your workers, raising costs, raising prices, and eliminating jobs doesn’t serve the whole of the nation. 

Cutting funding to health, education, art, and information doesn’t make the nation smarter. 

So why?

It’s not JUST to put money in the pockets of the rich, though that’s a very, very large portion of this. 

This is a revenge tour of an insane magnitude. Not just of a man, but a political party, and a belief system. 

This is Biblical reckoning. 

We have people whose patriotism is as deep as their gun case, knowledge of the nation as wide as the 1776 sticker on their trucks, and whose faith is as real as a three-dollar bill raising their fists in the air because finally, White Makes Right once more. 

Preach to the base that the foreigners are coming, are all in a vast gang here to rape, murder, and steal jobs you don’t want, and then sell them that the culture wars have ruined America. 

That I lived long enough to see a time when Nazism would be casually shrugged off as if it were just misunderstood is insane to me, but here we are. 

We are a nation that has loosed the bullies, and they have Tik Tok. Each of them has a platform, real or imagined, to rant, rave, and yell – COME TAKE IT – to an echo chamber. 

America has lost international standing. 

Has lost power. 

Has lost its influence. 

And it’s hemorrhaging money as the doddard in chief changes his mind as to what war he wants to fight that day. Epstein allegations? Tariffs? Culture? The Left? Biden? Obama? Shadows? 

We have people who think all of the budget cuts, despite many of these cuts coming after the money has been allotted, are a good thing. As if that money is going to come pouring into their pockets. These people who don’t care what is done, so long as they’re told that it’s good for them and that the dirty Libs want the opposite. 

Lord. 

Every day is something new. 

He isn’t a bulldozer so much as a wrecking ball that’s indiscriminately destroying things and figuring that it’s better that way. 

Someone will clean up the mess. 

The Republican cult, and cult it is, will follow him into the bowels of Hell if it means they can pretend to be right, and keep that AK at their side. 

And the President continues to poke into things that don’t serve anyone but a narrow base that is angry at everything. 

Oh, lord, the teams that used to feature offensive and indelicate Native American names have new names now. MAKE RACISM GREAT AGAIN. CHANGE THEM BACK!

Why?

For what purpose?

So some idiot on a barstool can say the word “Redskin?”

Bro. 

Seriously. 

You’d almost think the Prez was schizophrenic with the moves he’s made. Let’s bomb Iran. 

Why?

BECAUSE!

(Yeah, yeah, sure, it’s because they “have nuclear weapon capability,” as if this stopped them from those goals if they want them.).

He hates Ukraine. 

He loves them. 

He hates them. 

He loves them. 

None of this makes sense. 

And if the end goal is truly to fill his pockets and the pockets of the ultra-wealthy, then I am gobsmacked because it’s the dumbest con out there. 

I am going to destroy the economy, create a police state, and destroy the nation while we kill the planet…so I can…buy more plastic wives, or another boat, or another mansion, or, or, or…

 And the Right doesn’t know what they want. 

They want a police state that is authoritarian. 

And they want a Christian police state. 

And they want no rules for themselves. 

And they want no public education. 

And, and, and…

It’s like going to your neighbors’ houses and picking out what they’ll wear every day.

YOU WILL THINK AND ACT LIKE I SAY, OR ELSE!

And this is…Christian?

Good leadership?

What is it?

The Democrats have no idea how to help themselves to anything but the kiddie table where the cast-off money is. 

The regular people are too busy escaping from all of this, or giving hot takes of their own on the socials, or maybe just doing a dumb prank or dance to care. 

The people who created AI have no idea if it’s great or dangerous, and neither do we; we just know we’ll use it, darn it, because it’s a new toy. 

The news media can’t help themselves but adore Trump because he is always good business, even when he hates them. The more he hates them, the better business is. Until he just closes them all down and replaces them with State Run Media. 

Hey, it was fun while it lasted. 

Closeted racists are now out and proud, out of the, what, not closet, so cellar? Empowered by the Right to do and say as they please, so long as they tow the company line. 

And maybe it could be a new evolution of humanity, but, like everything else, it will be weaponized, commercialized, and paywalled so we’ll never really know.

The country has gone insane, and maybe that’s for the best because insanity sure looks a lot better than the reality we’re being served. 

But that’s what they want. 

They want silence.
They want complicity.
They want to keep lying, and lying, and lying and will because no one will call them on it. 

No one dares to because it will cost them money or put a target on their back. 

The Presidency has been weaponized and it is ruled by a petty man, who commands the attention of petty, angry people. 

For the sake of our children, for the sake of the nation, and for the sake of the world, we can’t let them drown out the truth. 

We can’t let them drown out the good in us. 

And we can’t let them silence us or we’ll all be doomed together. 

This nation is flawed and imperfect, but the dream of what it could be lives, and will live on until the day we let them snuff it out.
