After the election of Donald Trump to the presidency in 2016, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I was angry, frustrated, and felt powerless. I wanted to do something, so I turned to what I do: writing. I reached out to other writer friends, and together, we agreed to put something out into the world to counter the hate and anger. This was how Battle Flag came together, an anthology of short protest fiction and poetry. This was our battle flag, with all proceeds going to Planned Parenthood of Michigan.
The book didn’t change the world, but it was something. It was a spark we hoped would inspire others. The authors in this new book are –
