The small town of Munsonville has served as the heart of many of my stories. A place of dark history, full of bloody secrets, and dangerous people. It is a place of monsters, both human and otherwise. While the place has appeared many times, in many ways, the heart of this cursed small town is held in the following three books. This is the arc of a man named Tilling Diem, and his connection to the doom of Munsonville. The first two books, “Road Kill” and “RoadKillers” are a connected narrative about love, loss, cursed history, and revenge. The third book, “In Roots of Ash,” is the story of the woods and the things that live there. Tilling’s story wraps up in this book, though he is not a main character.
The author highlights five horror books that promise to captivate and disturb readers. "Things We Found" explores personal horrors, while "Heedless Reflection" delves into loss and revenge. "The Fallen God of Opal Bay" is a 2025 novel about a young outcast desperate to be invisible in a place that is unseen by most. It started with the two dead girls lying at the bottom of an abandoned construction project, but they weren't the last bodies she would find. And soon, even Death itself would find her, but death is far from the most dangerous thing in Opal Bay, as she is about to find out.
"Things We Found" is a new book of short stories inspired by found footage horror, exploring haunting echoes from the darkness. One excerpt, titled "Stickman," follows a father and son driving home, where the son excitedly points out a mysterious figure in the trees, hinting at something unsettling just beyond their perception.
The author has contributed to over twenty books, including anthologies under the "Goblin Holler" label, featuring unique takes on Bigfoot and ghost stories. Additionally, they have written for "Battle Flag" protest books, "Horrible Disasters," and "Horror Addicts Guide to Life," gaining visibility and appreciation in the writing community.
"Battle Flag" and "A New Liberty" are anthologies created in response to the anxiety during Trump's presidency. They contain stories and poetry emphasizing hope in challenging times, with proceeds benefiting Michigan Planned Parenthood. Although raising $400 may seem small, each contribution counts in the fight against rising darkness and fascism.
"Danny Frankenstein" follows ten-year-old Daniel Randle, who navigates life changes after a family tragedy. Immersed in his love for movie monsters, he learns to cope with his grief and shyness. With the help of his alter ego, Danny Frankenstein, and new friends, he confronts challenges and discovers his identity as an outsider.
"Little O and the Storms" tells the story of a young girl, Little O, who battles bullying at school. Inspired by a friend's daughter facing challenges due to her afro-puff hair, the narrative encourages resilience and self-acceptance. Ultimately, Little O discovers her inner strength to confront adversity.
"Marilyn and the Werewolf" is a heartfelt tribute by the author, written after his mother's passing. It tells the story of a girl and her dog encountering a werewolf, interwoven with themes of grief, love, and the bonds of friendship. The narrative reflects personal loss and the magic of shared storytelling.
