Hands down, one of the strangest of my books is “Reliquary in Black,” a dark religious epic about faith, belief, and the chasm between the self and god. The book centers on a child born of both Heaven and Hell, searching for the reason for their existence. As both worlds begin to erode from the absence and guidance of God, perhaps this child of two worlds can discover what has been forgotten and unite that which has been torn apart.
It’s a big, weird book, and a wild swing I am proud I took. It’s as dark and weird as much of my work, but also has moments of fun and a huge heart at its center. If you like horror mixed with religion, then this is an epic trip you’ll want to take.
