Writing short stories has always been magical for me. I love the challenge of something short, that has to make sense in some way, and has to connect with the reader in a shorter amount of space than a novel has. I love the room a novel affords a writer, with space to stretch the story out, and to get to know the characters better, but there is magic in short fiction, and if done right, they can be as powerful as any novel.
“Are We Monsters” is a collection of monster stories, and a banger of a book. If you like monsters, and want something you can read in small bites, friend, give it a read. It’s creepy, it’s weird, and it’s fun. I mean, you know, monster fun!
