Written during 2022, when I wrote four books in the course of eleven months, this is a book about grief, hate, and the lengths someone will go to to attain what they desire.
Set in a nameless city, the story follows a teen who is processing his grief after losing someone special. That grief begins to calcify into hate as the person responsible for his loved one’s death goes on with their life seemingly as if nothing has happened. Across the city is a man who has hated everything in his life since he was a child, especially himself. One day he sees a figure in the mirror and is slowly lured into a dark game with the hope of gaining the attention of God.
In a house in a forbidden and forgotten part of the city, a trap is being constructed with the hope of blackmailing God into granting an audience.
In a young man’s heart sorrow is becoming rage and becomes something dangerous and electric.
And in the mirror hides something older than time. Something watchful, patient…and hungry.
Heedless Reflection is a tale of grief and its horrible cost.
Out now in paperback and on Kindle.
