BOOK SPOTLIGHT: “Marilyn and the Werewolf”

Marilyn and the Werewolf“:

“When a young girl and her dog begin hearing howling at night, and then see shadows outside their window it isn’t a matter of whether there is a werewolf but…WHO IT IS.”

There no more important book that I have written than this book.

I wrote this book just after my mother had died. I had come up with the idea for it as she was dying, because I needed something to focus my growing grief on. She had been dying for a while, and at the end, all we could do was watch as she drifted further and further away. Mom was a fighter, and she fought to the end, even when all there was left for her to do was let go.

This book was my tribute, my love letter to my mom, the woman who got me into spooky stuff and monsters.

This is the story of a girl, her dog, and a monster in the dark.

The dog in it was based on a dog my wife and I had adopted but lost a handful of months after we got her, and just a month after we lost mom.

The book slots in with the other “monster kid” books I wrote, in the same world, and in a universe waiting to be shared with Danny Frankenstein, Little O, and Little Sue.

It’s a simple story of friendship, and daring the dark.

It’s a story of love.

I hope that should you get this for someone you love, that you both find something magical.
